Oops - missed that didn't I?

Best laid plans...

Anyway, I'm back at last.

Puppy training - hmm. When we had our puppy - a few years ago now - I recall it was very traumatic geting her potty trained. I think it took 3 or 4 months and my husband was just about tearing his hair out with poops and pees everywhere. On hindsight, we'd have really liked a bit more help, but both of us working and 3 youngish kiddies, we weren't able to do much more than cope with it.

Oh, she was so cute when she was a puppy! And she was always very intelligent.

My daughters actually did most of her training, they seemed to have an affinity for it and Sweepie loved it too. Once the puppy training was over we could really enjoy her company, and when I look back, it wasn't that bad really.

She doesn't cadge for food - with just very minor exceptions; for example, she knows when it's 6pm - that's dinner time and we could almost believe she watches the clock! She asks for a dog biscuit when she comes in from her walk and looks for our apple cores, which we put in her food bowl (most of the time). The only other time she's a bit more pro-active is when she hears (or sees) us put some bread in the toaster!

So, having spent a relatively short time giving her some training, our beautiful dog is also a lovely character, so early puppy training really does pay off.

That's all for now - gotta go
.
